Quassia, also known as Hombre grande, is a small tree native to Brazil that's extremely bitter, and UPFUL for the body's digestive system. The bark of the tree contains quassin, a substance 50 times more bitter than quinine, the bitterest naturally-occurring chemical known to exist. This bark, supports in: 

  • Eliminating parasites
  • Upset stomach
  • Loss of appetite
  • Fever
  • Enhances secretion of the liver, stomach, kidneys, gallbladder, and intestines.
  • Antimalaria


Amargo should not be used during pregnancy. It's been documented to have an antifertility effect in studies. 


Use 1/2 - 1 piece of bark per 2 cups of boiling water and let brew for 10-15 minutes. The longer you steep the stronger the tonic. Allow to cool, strain, and consume.
